Komets Celebrate Season # 9 at Year-End Banquet

The Kawartha Komets Special Needs Hockey Program celebrated the completion of our 9th season of Special Hockey International play on Saturday, May 12th.

The Annual Year-End Banquet and Trophy Presentation took place at Rhema Christian School and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Jason Chessar from J's Magic put on a great show for the kids and they were spellbound by his tricks.

Every player received a trophy to acknowledge their accomplishments over the past season.

Adam White, Phoenix (Seniors) Head Coach, was honoured for his six (6) years of faithful dedication to the Komets program.  Jeff Botuik, Galaxy (Intermediate # 1) Head Coach, was recognized for five years of commitment to the Komets.  Jeff Reesor and Brianna Ball were also honoured for their volunteer work with the team.  Brianna has helped out with our Junior program for many years.  Recently Josh has been Robert McGregor's eyes (Robert, one of our Junior goaltenders, is blind and underwent a successful kidney transplant last October).

Many thanks to Lisa Mills, the Komets' Special Events Co-ordinator, for all the work she put into the banquet again this year.  A big THANK YOU to all her helpers as well!

The Komets were BLAZING!!!
