Kawartha Komets Compete in Special Olympics Basketball

The Adam Scott Lions Special Olympics basketball team placed fifth at the Special Olympics Provincial School Games at Brock University in St. Catharines earlier this month.

Adam Scott was the only basketball team from Peterborough that was completely made up of Special Olympians. They were also the only team to earn the right to be in the first division.

"The students represented Adam Scott perfectly and had an amazing time," said co-coach Karen Stewart. "The event was a fun-filled and competitive three days."

Two of our Kawartha Komets Special Needs Hockey Program athletes played for the Adam Scott team.  Spencer Knapton-Oakes, back row right and Tyson Ham, on Spencer's right, are Komets hockey players, Spencer with the Phoenix and Tyson with the Saturns!

CONGRATULATIONS to these excellent athletes!
