Kawartha Komets and the Santa Claus Parade 2016

The Kawartha Komets Special Needs Hockey Program participated in the Santa Claus Parade again this year.  The weather was favourable and thousands of excited kids and their parents lined the streets.

Many thanks to Lisa Mills and Lorrie Powers, Special Events Co-ordinators for the Komets, for the hard work that went into the planning and decorating of the float.  Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the float look good.

Thank you to Bryan Cathcart of Apsley Peterborough Transport for lending us a flat bed and Gary, the driver.  Kudos to Dan McWilliams of McWilliams Moving and Storage for lending us dozens of moving blankets again this year...to make everyone riding on the float more comfortable.  Thanks to Brian Brown, the Komets' Co-ordinator of Coaching, for lending us all those straw bales.  Thank you to Youth Unlimited for allowing us to park the truck in their lot so it could be decorated.

Thank you, Lesley Parnell, for being such a goodwill ambassador for the Komets and donating thousands of candy canes for the parade watchers.

And finally, THANK YOU to everyone who carried the banners, walked in the parade, donated candies and candy canes and those who handed out the candies and sat on the float!

Another successful parade experience! The Komets were BLAZING!
