Komets BLAZE at KIP Friendship Tournament in Kitchener

The Kawartha Komets Special Needs Hockey Program took part in the KIP (Kitchener Ice Pirates) Friendship Tournament this past weekend in Kitchener.  57 of our players on all three teams, Junior, Intermediate and Senior, enjoyed the thrill of tournament hockey and hanging out at the hotel with teammates.

Participation in the tournament was made possible through our ongoing partnership with the Peterborough Petes.  Over $16,000 was raised as a result of the Komets' fundraising game with the Petes to help send the players to Kitchener.

The Komets were BLAZING!!!

Check out this link which portrays accurately what special needs hockey is all about.

Tyler Calver, a friend of the Komets for 5 years during his time at CHEX TV in Peterborough, did a great job capturing what this exciting form of hockey is all about.
