Kawartha Komets Board Member Passes Away

On Saturday, November 23rd a member of the Jack McGee Kawartha Komets Board of Directors, Wayne Dominick, passed away.  

Wayne was a very kind and generous man who sponsored and supported many local sports teams.  

In addition to being a board member with the Komets, Wayne served on the board of the Peterborough Lakers senior lacrosse team.  

We will miss you, friend!

Here is Wayne's obituary:

Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the age of 70.
Beloved husband of Susan Dominick (nee Nurse) for 29 years. Dear brother-in-law of Donna Waugh and her husband Walter and dear friend of Brian Edwards and his wife Barb.

Sadly missed by his extended family.

Wayne was deeply involved in sports within Peterborough, assisting with Peterborough Patriots sledge hockey, Wayne’s Wyld Kats, Wayne’s Warriors, Peterborough Liftlock Atom Hockey, Peterborough Lakers Lacrosse and Kawartha Komets.

He was also involved with St. James Men’s Club and was a member of St. James United Church.

A memorial service will be held at the Highland Park Funeral Centre at 2510 Bensfort Road (take River Road South) in Peterborough on Friday, November 29th, Rev. Julie van Haaften officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 - 11 a.m. with service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James United Church or the charity of your choice.
