On Saturday, October 30th, the Kawartha Komets were launched into orbit for their 2nd season and the Evinrude Centre in Peterborough was ablaze with excitement.
We played the Don Mills Diamonds and carved out two exciting wins against our rivals. The Junior Komets took to the ice at 10:15 followed by the Intermediate/Senior team at 11:15.
Local TV cable station COGECO was on hand to shoot footage for a future special on Hockey Day in Peterborough.
Several new players made their debut Saturday morning and finally realized their dream to play hockey on a "real" team. The arena was buzzing!
Drop by the Evinrude Centre next Saturday morning, November 6th when the Komets take on the Dragons from Durham at 10:15 and 11:15 a.m.
The Komets will be blazing again.
Go Komets Go!
NOTE: Our star # 1 goaltender is still recovering from two brain surgeries and we wish him a quick and complete recovery. He misses being between the pipes so much. Thanks for your prayers for our goalie Travis Harren.
A HUGE THANK YOU. Without our fantastic team of incredible volunteers the Komets would sputter and come crashing to the ground. Thank you to all our coaches, on-ice helpers, referees, board members, timekeepers, sponsors and our great parents. We are going to have a great year!
Blaze on Komets!
